Maldives Olympic Committee Participates in OCA & Olympic Solidarity Regional Forum 2025 in Bhutan

Thimphu, Bhutan – The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) participated in the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Olympic Solidarity Regional Forum 2025, held from April 2–3 in Thimphu. The forum brought together representatives from 26 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) across East, Southeast, and South Asia, alongside officials from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the OCA.

The Regional Forum served as a platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative planning around key strategic themes shaping the Olympic Movement in Asia. A major highlight of the agenda was the presentation and discussion of the Olympic Solidarity Quadrennial Plan 2025–2028, outlining the strategic priorities and funding mechanisms available to support athlete development, capacity-building, and good governance across NOCs.

Delegates also discussed preparations for several major upcoming events, including the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, and the 2026 Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These updates included operational planning, qualification systems, and collaborative opportunities for NOCs to ensure successful participation.

The Forum also provided valuable networking opportunities, enabling NOCs to exchange experiences and best practices in areas such as athlete support, gender equality in sport, and national program delivery.
