Zuiz Records Personal Best as Maldives Compete in Men’s 200 Metres
The Maldives’ Mohamed Zuiz Saud recorded a new personal best in the men’s 200 metres as he and Ibrahim Nahil Nizar represented the national athletics team at the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026.
Competing in the opening heat at the Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium in Nagoya, Nahil completed the race in 22.62 seconds. He placed fifth among the seven athletes in his heat.
Zuiz took to the track in the second heat and crossed the finish line in 22.70 seconds, establishing a new personal-best time. His heat also featured seven athletes.
Following the conclusion of the men’s 200-metre heats, the Maldives will next compete in the men’s 4 × 100-metre relay on 28 September. The race is scheduled to begin at 6:22 p.m. Maldives time.
