Maldives Olympic Committee Welcomes New Athletes’ Commission Members for 2025–2029 Term

The Maldives Olympic Committee welcomes the Athletes’ Commission Members for the 2025–2029 term, continuing its focus on athlete-centred governance and the empowerment of athletes within the Olympic Movement.

Following the official call for candidacies issued on 30 November 2025, applications were received for the Athletes’ Commission in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for the election. As only one eligible candidate was received for each of the five available posts, no election was required, and the candidates have been appointed unopposed, in line with the approved election regulations. Appointed Members of the MOC Athletes’ Commission (2025–2029).

Olympian (Female – Swimming): Aishath Sajina

Member (Handball): Nashfa Amira

Member (Table Tennis): Fathimath Jumana Nimal

Member (Badminton): Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki

The Athletes’ Commission serves as a vital platform to ensure that the voices, perspectives, and welfare of athletes are represented within the Maldives Olympic Committee. The Commission plays an advisory role, contributing to athlete-centred policies, safeguarding, career transition, and broader decision-making processes that impact Maldivian athletes at all levels.

Aligned with international best practices and the principles of the Olympic Movement, Athletes’ Commissions are a cornerstone of good governance, empowering athletes to actively participate in shaping the future of sport. The establishment and operation of the MOC Athletes’ Commission follow guidelines consistent with the Olympic Charter and the framework promoted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
