GDh. Vaadhoo Celebrates Olympic Day 2026
As part of the nationwide Olympic Day 2026 celebrations, GDh. Vaadhoo hosted a two-day programme on 26 and 27 June 2026 under this year's global Olympic Day campaign, "Let's Move – You Can Do This."
The celebration brought together the local community through an Olympic Day Run and a Sports Festival, providing participants of all ages with the opportunity to engage in a variety of sporting and recreational activities in a fun, inclusive and welcoming environment.
The programme encouraged children, youth and adults to embrace active lifestyles while promoting the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect. Through participation in sport and physical activity, the event reflected the International Olympic Committee's message that movement is for everyone and that every step towards a healthier lifestyle matters.
The Maldives Olympic Committee extends its appreciation to the GDh. Vaadhoo Council, volunteers and everyone involved in organizing and supporting the celebration. Their commitment and collaboration contributed to a successful Olympic Day celebration, inspiring the community to come together through sport and physical activity.
