The Maldives is being represented by Ibrahim Rizan at the 27th National Olympic Academy (NOA) Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur from 4 to 9 May 2026.

Rizan, who has been nominated by the Cricket Board of Maldives, is set to join participants from across the region for the week-long programme focused on Olympic education, youth leadership, and the promotion of the core values of excellence, respect, and friendship.

Following the arrival and check-in of participants on 4 May, the session will formally begin on 5 May with an opening ceremony featuring addresses by senior officials of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM), including its President.

Throughout the programme, participants will engage in a range of educational and experiential activities designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Olympic Movement. Key highlights will include a lecture titled “The Mindset of an Olympian” by Olympian Josiah Ng, as well as visits to leading high-performance and sporting institutions such as the National Sports Institute and the PETRONAS Akademi Badminton Malaysia.

The session will also feature sport and team-based activities at Sunway Lagoon, aimed at promoting teamwork and reinforcing Olympic values, along with an International Cultural Night where participants will share and celebrate their respective cultures.

Hosted within Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, a premier integrated destination for international events and youth programmes, the session will provide an ideal setting that combines education, sport, and cultural exchange in a dynamic environment.
