The 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya came to a vibrant close with a spectacular and culturally rich Closing Ceremony, marking the conclusion of a dynamic and memorable edition of the Games.

The ceremony, held at Seaside Yasha Park, brought together athletes, officials, and spectators for a final celebration of sport, unity, and Asian solidarity. The Maldivian delegation proudly took part in the ceremony, reflecting on their participation across the Games.

The Closing Ceremony featured an engaging lineup of performances, blending traditional Chinese cultural elements with modern artistic displays, complemented by music, dance, and vibrant visual effects. The ceremonial handover segment symbolized the continuation of the Asian Beach Games movement and the shared commitment to promoting beach sports across the continent.

Over the course of the Games, more than 2,500 athletes from across Asia competed in a wide range of beach and water-based sports, showcasing high levels of athleticism and sportsmanship.

The Maldives competed in four sports at the Games namely Beach Handball, Beach Athletics, Beach Volleyball, and Open Water Swimming, with athletes gaining valuable international exposure and experience.

Maldives Olympic Committee President Mohamed Abdul Sattar and Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed, along with other senior officials, attended the Closing Ceremony.

The conclusion of the Games marks the end of a significant international sporting engagement for Team Maldives, with valuable lessons and experiences to be carried forward into future competitions.
