Riffath and Zeeq Contest Men’s 400 Metres at Aichi–Nagoya 2026
The Maldives continued its athletics competition at the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026, with Adam Riffath and Hussain Zeeq Suad contesting the heats of the men’s 400 metres at the Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium in Nagoya.
Competing in the opening heat, Riffath completed the race in 49.61 seconds. He placed eighth among the nine athletes in the heat, becoming the first of the two Maldivian sprinters to take to the track.
Zeeq subsequently competed in the second heat, which also featured nine athletes. He crossed the finish line in 50.77 seconds, concluding the Maldives’ participation in the men’s 400-metre event.
The national athletics team will return to competition on 27 September for the men’s 200-metre heats, scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. Maldives time.
